Mary Grace Gatewood is an attorney in Clark Partington’s Commercial Litigation Department in Destin, Florida. Mary Grace’s practice focuses primarily in the areas of land use, real property litigation, and intellectual property law. In her land use and real property litigation practice, Mary Grace has served clients in a variety of real property matters including boundary line and access disputes, nondisclosure cases, purchase and sale disputes, condemnation cases, and an array of other matters involving real property. She believes that her role is to serve as both a legal strategist and adviser to her clients in providing not just the legal solution to the issue presented, but a practical solution that best meets the client’s needs.
In addition to her real-property practice, Mary Grace is also well-versed in intellectual property law. Mary Grace has considerable experience applying for and defending intellectual property rights. She has acquired countless trademark and copyright registrations on behalf of her clients. In addition, Mary Grace has litigated various trademark and copyright infringement claims in state and federal court. Mary Grace regularly gives presentations on intellectual property considerations for business owners, and she takes a particular interest in helping local businesses preserve and protect their intellectual property.
Mary Grace graduated magna cum laude from Mercer University School of Law, where she served as the Student Writing Editor of the Mercer Law Review. She was an active member of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, serving as the organization’s President, and the Legal Aid Volunteer Association.
Mary Grace is a native of Niceville, Florida and graduate of Collegiate High School at Northwest Florida State College. Since returning home as a lawyer, she feels that she has a unique opportunity to use her education to make her hometown a better place for the future. Outside of the office, you can find her hiking, baking, and spending time with her husband, Brian, and their rescue dog, Lincoln.
