PENSACOLA (January 21, 2021) –
Clark Partington recognizes and congratulates two of its powerhouse women for their past and present leadership roles as President of the Northwest Florida Chapter of NAIOP, the leading organization in this area for developers, owners and associated professionals in office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate. Last week, Michelle Boehm, Clark Partington’s Firm Administrator and President (2020) of NAIOP NWFL, passed the torch to Shareholder, Megan Fry, who succeeds her as President of the Chapter for 2021.
Upon transitioning to her new role, Ms. Fry shared this sentiment to honor her colleague and predecessor:
“Our firm has been a proud supporter of NAIOP NW Florida since its inception and I am honored to serve as President in 2021. Michelle’s leadership during a most challenging 2020 was instrumental in our chapter’s continued educational offerings for our membership in a remote environment and legislative advocacy at the local, state and federal level. The entire NAIOP board joins me in thanking her for her service and leadership.”
Likewise, when reflecting on her year of service as President and in looking to the future, Ms. Boehm had this to say:
“This has been an unusual but fulfilling year to serve as President, thanks to the tremendous support of the rest of the board. We started the year excited and ready to tackle legislative priorities and fundraising activities. Then COVID hit and changed everything. We persevered as a group and were still able to affect change locally with such things as encouraging the governor to re-open the beaches that were closed due to the pandemic, making our voice heard in the movement to take down statues that no longer stood for what the city wanted to stand for (while still preserving and saving that history), and participating in the OLF-8 master study development planning. At the state level, we continued to advocate for elimination of the state sales tax for commercial rental property and, with our sister chapters, were able to get passed HB 1339 which gives linkage fee relief to developers. At the national level, we continue to have great strength and work directly with our representatives to make change.
I am very proud to see another member of our firm, attorney and shareholder, Megan Fry, take the helm as President. With her expertise, wisdom and tenacity, this should be an exciting year. She is at the gate and ready to run once we have the COVID world under control. She has some exciting new fundraising challenges to lead and the connections to make things happen. We couldn’t ask for a better President!”
Clark Partington Attorney and Shareholder, William J. Dunaway, and Firm Administrator, Michelle A. Boehm, precede Ms. Fry as former Presidents of NAIOP Northwest Florida.
