Professional Experience:
Meredith D. Bush is a board-certified specialist City, County & Local Government attorney in the Environmental and Land Use practice area of Clark Partington’s Commercial Litigation Department. Meredith’s practice primarily focuses on local, state, & federal land use law, planning & litigation; community association planning; government administration; and associated environmental permitting.
Meredith is prepared to help clients with all aspects of land use law and government regulation, including zoning, comprehensive plans, subdivisions, development agreements, community redevelopment, government licensing, permitting and related environmental issues.
Meredith has extensive litigation and legal experience in both public and private sectors of business and government. In the public sector, Meredith served as attorney for the Escambia County Board of Commissioners, where she routinely prepared ordinances, resolutions, memoranda and legal instruments on behalf of the local government. While with the County, Meredith represented the Escambia County Planning Board where she routinely reviewed, prepared and advised on amendments to the County Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan, rezoning and future land use map amendments, development agreements, government procurement processes and infrastructure project approvals. Meredith is an AICP certified planner.
In addition, Meredith served as a senior litigation attorney with the State of Florida Department of Children and Families, Children’s Legal Services, and as a Florida assistant public defender.
Meredith’s private sector experience included first party claims involving breach of contract, uninsured/underinsured motorists, premises liability and a multitude of insurance coverage issues.
Meredith is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law. Before law school, Meredith graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mobile, earning three Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science, Spanish & History, with a minor in psychology.
She is licensed to practice law in the states of Mississippi and Florida.
