Professional Experience:
Kia M. Goldsmith is prepared to assist clients with all aspects of business and real estate litigation in state and federal courts in Florida. She represents title insurers and their insureds, real estate owners, individuals and financial institutions in all types of litigation matters, including but not limited to, real property disputes, title liability and commercial real estate defaults. Her practice also focuses on business dissolution, shareholder disputes and general commercial litigation.
Kia has litigation and legal experience in both public and private sectors of business and government. In the public sector, Kia served as an attorney for the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners, where she routinely prepared ordinances, resolutions, memoranda and legal instruments on behalf of the local government. While with the County, Kia represented the Escambia County Supervisor of Elections as well as the Escambia County Planning Board, where she routinely reviewed, prepared and advised the board on amendments to the County Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan, rezoning and future land use map amendments, development agreements, and infrastructure project approvals. Kia also advised the Escambia County Human Relations Department with respect to a variety of labor and employment issues, and represented the County’s interest in administrative appeals of adverse employment actions.
In addition, Kia worked as a litigation attorney with the firm of Anchors Gordon, formerly known as Keefe, Anchors, & Gordon. Kia’s private sector experience included complex business and commercial litigation, real estate litigation, community association litigation, as well as labor and employment law.
Kia graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Before law school, Kia graduated magna cum laude from the University West Florida, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Law/Legal Studies.
She is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
