J. Troupe
Brewer
Attorney at Law
Professional Experience:
Troupe Brewer is an attorney working in Clark Partington’s transactional department in his hometown of Pensacola, where his practice focuses on residential and commercial real estate transactions, finance, and related development issues such as land use planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance. Troupe represents national, regional, and local lenders, private and corporate borrowers, developers, property owners, and landlords in a wide array of real estate and other corporate transactions and disputes.
Troupe is a graduate of the University of North Carolina (BA – History), and graduated with a JD from Cumberland School of Law as well as a master’s degree in Environmental Management from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in 2011. Following law school, Troupe enjoyed clerkship opportunities in New York City and Singapore. Troupe returned to the US and landed in Austin, Texas, where he first served as the Committee Clerk for the Texas Senate Committee on Business and Commerce, and subsequently was hired as a staff attorney with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality where he worked on issues of regulatory compliance, permitting matters, and corresponding litigation.
Most recently, Troupe was a principal at the law firm of Lloyd Gosselink Rochelle & Townsend, PC in Austin, where he continued his practice in the fields of regulatory compliance, resource management and planning, real estate development, and private property rights, as well as advocating on behalf of firm clients at the Texas Capitol as a registered lobbyist. Prior to leaving Austin, Troupe was nominated by his peers as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in the field of Environmental Law.
The diversity of Troupe’s professional experience makes him a versatile and valuable asset to his clients. He has proven himself a capable litigator in both state and federal court, as well as in trial-like administrative proceedings before regulatory bodies. He is experienced in substantive corporate governance issues through his representation of numerous boards of directors and governing bodies, including those of municipalities, trade associations, and various resource management and utility districts. He has significant experience in drafting and negotiating complex contractual matters, and can ably assist his clients through the processes of real estate acquisition, development, and sale or leasing.
Outside of the office Troupe enjoys spending time with family, cheering on his Tar Heels and the Crimson Tide, and being out on the water, particularly freediving and spearfishing.
Troupe is licensed to practice law in Florida, Alabama and Texas.
