Professional Experience:

Ian S. Macdonald is a shareholder in the firm’s Tallahassee office.  Ian’s practice focuses primarily on business and real property disputes.  Ian represents title insurers and their insureds as well as individuals and businesses to identify and resolve impairments to their property.  Ian represents a range of creditors including financial institutions and small businesses in and outside of bankruptcy proceedings.  His practice is also focused on probate litigation and representing his clients in all manner of disputes arising from wills, trusts, estates and powers of attorney.

Ian believes that the roll of legal advocate and advisor extends beyond the courtroom, and he strives to provide the most practical strategy and solutions to his clients in furtherance of their goals. Ian is committed to being responsive to his clients whenever a question might arise.

Outside of the office, Ian spends most of his time with his young family.  Ian has served on the Stewardship Committee at his church for several years, volunteers at Legal Services of North Florida assisting individuals in their estate planning, and is an advisor to the FSU College of Law’s Jessup International Law Moot Court Team.  Ian previously served as an officer of the Tallahassee Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.

Prior to law school, Ian worked as an excess casualty underwriter for an E & S lines insurer in Richmond, Virginia.
