Doug Bates recognized in 2021 edition of Chambers USA

PENSACOLA (May 26, 2021): Clark Partington is proud to announce that Douglas A. Bates, Firm Shareholder and Commercial Litigation Department Chair, recently received recognition and ranking in the 2021 edition of Chambers USA for his legal knowledge, experience, and client service in the area of “Bankruptcy Restructuring for North and Central Florida.” Throughout the legal industry, this special recognition is generally viewed as a strong mark of approval for an attorney at both the local and national level. Doug has been recognized by Chambers every year since 2012.

Chambers is an international organization, renowned for its insight and analysis on the legal profession, and is often referred to as the “gold-standard” in the marketplace for its rankings that are determined by client & attorney interviews and in-depth research by a team of analysts. Chambers shared a sampling of the sentiment expressed in one of these interviews in which a peer had this to say about Doug: “He is an impressive lawyer. He has a calming influence, is very good on his feet and is able to deal with anything that arises in an efficient and effective manner.” We couldn’t agree more, and we congratulate Doug on this well-deserved accomplishment.

Doug’s practice is focused on commercial and real estate litigation, with a large focus on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights cases.  He has handled insolvency matters, distressed business situations, and special asset cases across the state of Florida and the United States.

In addition to being selected to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite and Florida Super Lawyers, Doug is a member of the Clark Partington bankruptcy team that received recognition by Best Law Firms as Metropolitan Tier 1 firm in Bankruptcy & Creditor-Debtor Rights/Insolvency & Reorganization in 2020. He is an active member of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar, and was named the Section’s 2019 Member of the Year.  He also serves as Treasurer on the Section’s Executive Council, as well as being a member of several substantive committees. Doug is the immediate past President of Pensacola State College Foundation Board of Governors, an Executive Committee member with Pensacola Sports Board of Directors, and stays active in numerous other local, statewide, and national organizations.
