Douglas A. Bates, Commercial Litigation, Department Chair
Doug’s practice is focused on commercial and real estate litigation, with a large focus on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights cases. He has handled insolvency matters, distressed business situations, and special asset cases across the state of Florida and the United States.
In addition to being selected to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite and Florida Super Lawyers, since 2012 Doug has consistently received recognition and ranking by Chambers USA for his legal knowledge, experience, and client service in the area of “Bankruptcy Restructuring for North and Central Florida.” Doug is also a member of the Clark Partington bankruptcy team that received recognition by Best Law Firms as Metropolitan Tier 1 firm in Bankruptcy & Creditor-Debtor Rights/Insolvency & Reorganization in 2020. He currently serves as Chair-Elect of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar, and was named the Section’s 2019 Member of the Year. Doug is the immediate past President of Pensacola State College Foundation Board of Governors, an Executive Committee member with Pensacola Sports Board of Directors, and stays active in numerous other local, statewide, and national organizations.
Jeremy C. Branning, General Litigation
Jeremy’s years of litigation experience and position on the Executive Council of the Trial Layers Section of the Florida Bar has allowed him to work with lawyers and professionals across the state, in nearly every practice area. He is well informed of the issues and challenges of litigation. His current roles with the Florida Bar include serving as the First Circuit’s Representative on the Board of Governors and on the Executive Council of the Trial Lawyers Section.
Daniel E. Harrell, General Litigation
Daniel Harrell is a shareholder at Clark Partington. His practice focuses primarily on labor and employment litigation and counseling, and non-compete and restrictive covenant litigation.
Daniel’s labor and employment experience includes: Title VII actions involving race, gender and national origin discrimination, as well as sexual harassment, hostile work environment, constructive discharge and retaliation claims; claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act; Fair Labor Standards Act single-plaintiff and collective actions; ERISA actions alleging breaches of fiduciary duties; and union negotiations, disputes and arbitrations. Daniel regularly provides day-to-day advice and counseling to clients regarding compliance with various state and federal employment laws.
Appointed in 2019 by Governor DeSantis, Daniel is currently serving as the Chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Bruce D. Partington, General Litigation, Department Chair
Board Certified in Construction Law since 2005, Bruce Partington’s legal practice is largely devoted to this area as well as other commercial, real property, and insurance litigation. Partington regularly represents those involved with the construction and development process such as private owners and developers, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
Partington is also an active member of the Florida Bar, serving as Vice Chair of the Construction Law Committee within the Real Property Probate & Trust Law Section, in addition to serving on the Construction Law Certification Committee.
Scott A. Remington, President & Managing Shareholder | Business Litigation
Scott Remington divides his time between the practice of law and serving as the firm’s President & Managing Shareholder. He practices in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property Litigation, Government Relations, Securities & Shareholders Disputes, and Real Property Litigation. Scott’s clients include individuals, banks, and businesses across the Southeast.
He is general counsel to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos minor league baseball team and has represented some of the most transformative leaders in the community. He also serves as general counsel for Triumph Gulf Coast—the organization responsible for distributing $1.5 billion in economic aid resulting from the state’s lawsuit against BP.

Megan F. Fry, Business Litigation
Megan F. Fry is a shareholder who focuses primarily on business and real estate litigation in state and federal courts in Florida and Alabama. She represents title insurers and their insureds, real estate owners, individuals and financial institutions in all types of litigation matters, including but not limited to, real property disputes, title liability and commercial real estate defaults. Her practice also focuses on business dissolution, shareholder disputes and general commercial litigation.
Alfred J. Lojo, Estate & Probate
Alfred is an associate in the firm’s transaction department where he concentrates in real estate, taxation, corporate law, business transactions, probate, and estate planning. He provides a detailed yet practical approach when assisting clients with complex matters ranging from real estate development to the purchase or sale of a business. Alfred also frequently works with clients to design and implement strategies to carry out their estate planning or asset protection objectives.
Glenn E. Lovett is a shareholder in the firm’s transaction department. His practice areas include business law and health law. Glenn’s business and corporate practice focuses on asset (or stock) sales and acquisitions, private placements, corporate formation and governance, intellectual property, and contract drafting and review. His health law practice focuses on providing guidance to practitioners, group practices, clinical study organizations, and regulated facilities on various state and federal issues, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), the “Stark” law, the “Anti-kickback” statute, Medicare, Medicaid, and relevant portions of the federal and state False Claims Acts.
