July 3, 2019 – Clark Partington is pleased to announce that Michael J. Schofield has been appointed to the Aviation Law Certification Committee of The Florida Bar effective July 1, 2019. The Aviation Law Committee is assigned to study recent developments in aviation law, legislation and regulation. The Committee also keeps the members of The Bar informed of significant developments in this field and liaisons with agencies or local, state and federal governments concerned with aerospace law; study and legislation, and regulations or problems of aerospace law. Michael is board certified in Aviation, a distinction earned by just 48 attorneys in the state of Florida, and the only Board Certified Attorney in Aviation Law in the Panhandle region. To attain Board Certification, the Florida Bar requires that attorneys practice law for at least five years, are substantially involved in the specialty of aviation law, complete 60 hours of approved aviation law certification CLE in the three years immediately preceding application, be peer reviewed, and pass a rigorous written exam.
Michael is a partner at Clark Partington, and obtained his law degree from The University of Florida. He regularly represents those involved with the aviation, transportation, personal injury, products liability and insurance law, as well as arbitration and mediation, in public and private projects throughout Florida, Alabama, and beyond, in state and federal courts.
Michael has also been recognized as an AV-rated in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. He is panel counsel for Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Lawyers – Pilots Bar, IATSB , a member of Florida Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute, and IADC. He is also a member of Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, Florida Law Alliance, National Business Aviation Association.
