Douglas A. Bates to speak at Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, March 29

PENSACOLA (March 27, 2019):  Douglas A. Bates will present “Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Seminar” in partnership with the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association on March 29, 2019.  Along with speakers Jodi D. Dubose (Stichter, Riedel, Blain, Postler), Amy Denton Harris (Stichter, Riedel, Blain & Postler), and Jeffrey J. Hartley (Helmsing, Leach, Herlong, Newman & Rouse), the seminar will present an overview of Chapter 11 bankruptcy, including commercial versus personal Chapter 11 bankruptcy, practice pointers, and alternatives to Chapter 11.  Hosted at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (40 South Alcaniz Street, Pensacola), this seminar offers 2.5 general CLE credit.

Doug’s practice is focused on commercial and real estate litigation, with an additional component of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights cases.  Doug has handled insolvency matters, distressed business situations and special asset cases across the state of Florida and the United States.  He is an active member of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar, serving on the Section’s Executive Council, as well as several substantive committees. Doug is also a member of The Florida Bar Standing Committee on Student Education and Bar Admissions, as well as numerous other local, statewide, and national organizations.
